NEW DESIGN AVAILABLE
Post at 09:20 PM

We are delighted to announce the release of another new design. Croagh Patrick is a mountain in Co. Mayo, Ireland which has been a place of pilgrimage for over 1500 years. At its base stands a statue of St. Patrick, who spent 40 days fasting on the mountain, and on the top sits a small church. On the last Sunday of July each year thousands of pilgrims come from far and wide to climb the holy mountain, some barefoot, and celebrate Mass on the top.

The mountain rises 2510 feet (765m) above sea level and from the top, on a fine day, you can see the 365 small islands of Clew Bay below.

Irish Dancing Greeting Cards
Post at 05:15 PM

We have just added 2 new Irish dancing designs, one for girls and one for boys. These kits make a great greeting card to send to your favourite dancer and will offer appreciation and encouragement for their dancing skills. My own son is an Irish dancer and I know just how important this encouragement is.

Since Riverdance, Irish dancing has grown in popularity all over the world. If you know an Irish dancer somewhere why not praise their achievements by stitching and sending this Irish dancing card.

New - St. Brigid's Cross & Blessing !
Post at 08:56 PM

Although we have just produced a St. Brigid's cross for the National Museum, we have also produced a different one for stitchers who are not able to visit one of the Museum shops.

The NEW St. Brigid's Cross & Blessing features the traditional rush cross along with the blessing, in Irish, which was said when the crosses were taken by children to the houses of the village on St. Brigid's Day, the 1st February. The chart also gives an english translation of this blessing and the story of this tradition.

St. Brigid's Crosses are believed to protect the home of the family from misfortune and hunger and can still be found in almost every Irish home today. An ideal Christmas present for friends and family !
